deadbolls) to remain and be integrated With new levers (both sides, intenor/eXlerior) along With
new ADA approved Intartor Side thumbturns. Include new ROSes. All new hardware to be bronze
finish. See EXhibit 2 and 3.

3.01 Storage of Goods
A. Contractor shall be responsible for materials at all times. Contractor shall make arrangements to
be on-site for all deliveries and be responsible for the unloading, handling, and storage of all
goods.

3.02 Inspection
A. Job Conditions
1, Verify that openings are dimensionally within allowable tolerances, plumb, level, clean,
provide a solid anchoring surface, and are in accordance with manufacturer's installation
instructions.
3.03 Demolition
A. Remove and haul away existing unit doors (5), south stairwell door (1), all residentiallockset
knobs and handles, and ALL residential unit door kick-down door holders. (See Section
1.01).
B. SAVE AND REINSTALL all butt hinges (41 doors) and mortise lock boxes (41 doors). Existing
hinges that are founa to need replacement, as determined by the contractor AND Scott
County HRA, shall be replaced during installation as a change order. See Alternate One
on the bid form.
B. All debris shall be removed from the site in a timely manner and shall not be left around the
property or pose any hazard to residents. All scrap from demolition and installation shall be
picked up daily and placed in a dumpster or other container and disposed of properly.
3.04 Installation
A. Use only skilled tradesmen with work done in accordance with specifications and manufacturer's
installation instructions.
B. Install new doors to existing frames, plumb and square with existing hinges. Adequately anchor to
maintain positions permanently when subjected to normal use.
C. Install new closers and adjust to medium pressure.
D. Adjust doors for proper operation after installation. Doors must swing and latch independently.
E. Install existing mortise lock boxes and new leversets and thumb turns as specified above. Check
and adjust for smooth and proper operation.
F. Repair all exposed frame/jamb holes from previous closers with metallic bonding product suitable
for existing material with color to match existing frame color as close as possible.
G. Repair all exposed door holes from previous kick-down door holders with wood putty compatible
with existing material with color to match existing door color as close as possible.
3.06 Protection and Cleaning
A. After completion of new doors, closers, and locksets, new products shall be inspected, adjusted,
put into working order and left clean, free of labels, dirt, etc. Protect installed product's finish
surfaces from damage during construction.
