HomeMy WebLinkAbout7B - 2008 Annual Spring Clean-Up Day (April 19) MEETING DATE: AGENDA #: PREPARED BY: AGENDA ITEM: PRESENTATION: March 17, 2008 ~ 7B Frank Boyles, City Manage PRESENTATION REGARDING THE 20TH ANNUAL PRIOR LAKE CLEAN-UP DAY AND BRIDGING On Apri/19, 2008, from 8 a.m. to noon, the 20th annual Prior Lake spring Clean- Up Day will take place at Twin Oaks Middle School parking lot. The purpose of this day is to encourage clean up of private property in the Prior Lake area. Residents of Prior Lake and Credit River and Spring Lake townships may dispose of household items for a cost. A $5 gate fee is collected from each vehicle which pays for disposal of up to: · 10 tires . 2 appliances · Household electronics · Batteries · Scrap metal · Yard waste . General recycling The following items are accepted, but at an additional charge: · Additional tires · Additional appliances . Large screen TVs · Console TVs · Municipal solid waste Persons who wish to participate should bring their license or identification card, together with the anticipated fee. Cash cards are not accepted. In addition to clean up, the Prior Lake Rotary and Prior Lake Lions jointly sponsor the Bridging program. Through Bridging, usable household items can be donated at no cost. Items accepted include: · Easy chairs · Coffee tables . Blankets · Table and chairs . Pots/pans . Dishes · Dresser drawers . Couch · Beds (including mattress and box spring) Bicycles, appliances and electronics may not be donated.
