RE: Home Occupation Permit (Case File #96-093)
Dear Mr. Strand:
The City of Prior Lake Planning Department has reviewed your application for a home
occupation permit for the property located at 15051 Green Oaks Trail (see attached
legal description). According to your application, the proposed use consists of gun
repair shop.
This letter serves as official notification of approval of your application for a home
occupation permit to operate a gun shop, as described on your application. The
following conditions apply to this permit:
1. All material or equipment shall be stored within an enclosed structure.
2. Operation of the home occupation is not apparent from the street right-of-way.
3. The activity does not involve warehousing, distribution or retail sales of merchandise
produced off the site.
4. The home occupation may be carried on by persons residing in the dwelling unit and
not more than one employee who does not reside in the dwelling unit.
5. The home occupation shall be carried on wholly within the principal structure as
described on the applcation.
6. Exterior displays, signs (other than those permitted under the Sign Ordinance), and
outside storage of materials shall not be permitted.
7. Objectionable noise, vibration, smoke, dust, electrical disturbances, odors, heat,
glare or other nuisance factors shall not be discernible at the property line.
8. The home occupation shall not create excessive automobile traffic within the
neighborhood.
9. The Home Occupation permit is subject to all applicable ordinance and legal
requirements. Violation of any ordinance or legal requirement shall be deemed
grounds for immediate revocation of the Home Occupation Permit.
