SPECIFICATIONS
Building material package shaJ be as designed and manufactured by Cedar Forest
Products. The building structues are precut, prefabricated and shipped as components to
a building package. Any chao I:es or departures from design shall be explained and
documented by complete engi::.eered drawings of a registered structural engineer at least
seven days prior to bid date. lUSO, bidder must be a reputable manufacturer of precut
buildings for at least two year:L, and must be able to show a completed building of the type
specified if requested by the O' ,'mer.
LAMINATED SUPPORT CCILUMNS
MA TERrAL AND QUALITY' ASSURANCE. Structural glue laminated timber shall be
in conformance with ANSI St:tndard A.190.1 American National Standard for structural
glue laminated timber. Specie;.: Laminated lumber shall be lciln.dried southern pine,
architectural appearance grade,. sealed and wrapped. T .llminated columns shall be
5" x 5 1/2" pressure-treated in accordance with the American Wood Preservers
Association (A WP A). Manufhcturers shall furnish connection steel and hardware for
joining structural glue laminat.;:d timber members to their supports, exclusive of anchorage
and embedment in masonry 01 concrete (anchor bolts are not furnished).
ROOF SYSTEM
Roof system is designed to wi hstand 30-psf live load and 20-psf-wind load on the vertical
projected area. Hip rafters, perimeter beams and purloins laminated southern yellow pine,
precut and sized according to .,helter size.
.PEAK CONNECTOR
Pre-built hot rolled steeL W or,d to wood steel connections shall be designed in
accordance with the requiremfllts of American Institute of Steel Construction. Finish:
prime painted. Finish Coat SJ I erwin Williams Latex enamel. Surface preparation in
accordance with SSPC-SP2.

Roof decking sball consist of 2'" nominal # 1 kiln-dried southern yellow pine, single tongue
and groove with a V -joint face size, specified lengths, with all joints over supports. Roof
decking shall be field cut.
CUPOLA
Pre-built, shipped assembled-
FASCIA
Inland Red Cedar, 2" x 8", S4 " #2 and better, kiln-dried.
ROOF SHINGLES
Shall be quality 3-tab fibergla:; 5 shingles, 25 year limited warranty, and class "A" fire
rated. To be placed over 15-'h. felt and style "D" roof edge. Conforms to ASTM-D
3018. Roofapplications as p,::r manufacturers specifications. Roof slope: 8/12.
DECORATIVE BRACES AND OVERHEAD RAILINGS,
# I southern yellow pine, Cc. ". pressure treated to 0.40 per cubic foot of retention with a
30 year warranty. Plant-ons <.hall be inland red cedar; precut plant-ons shall be field
applied. Hardware: All bolt:, and lags zinc-plated.
STRUCTURE ERECTION
The fabricator shall furnish c:lmplete shop drawings showing necessary details.
Installation of the structure s:all be done with a competent supervisor in the construction
trades according to Cedar Fe I'est Products installation instructions providing good
construction practices and pI :lCedures. The general contractor is responsible for
protection of material after arrival at destination. The contractor will be required to shim,
cut and make adjustments oJ' fitting for proper building erections, Cedar Forest Products
has a policy of continuous iIiprovement and reserves the right to discontinue or change
specifications without notice.
