The following information is necessary to continue review of your application: . Complete and accurate legal description of the property to be vacated. I have enclosed two samples of a legal descriptions. A legal description is based on dimensions and measurements starting with an existing legal description of a property and measuring a certain distance from existing lot lines and property comers. You can write this yourself, but it must be correct and accurate. . The survey submitted is not a complete survey. It must include a surveyors stamp and signature. . The area indicated to be vacated does not match the description written on your application. The drawing and legal description must match. . Names and addressed of adjacent property owners and across the street are required. This list must come from the Scott County Auditors Office. The names should also be printed on mailing labels. Once we receive the necessary information, the notice of public hearing for vacation will be published in the newspaper. Should your vacation be approved, the legal description must be drafted by a registered land surveyor and a revised survey indicating the area vacated must be submitted prior to recording.
