GIRL SCOUTS GOLD AWARD
The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest award that a Girl Scout, aged 14-18,
may earn. The Gold Award project that each girl selects is something that she
can be passionate about, and something that fulfills a need within her community
(whether local or global), creates change, and may even be something that
becomes ongoing. The project encompasses organizational, leadership and
networking skills and the sense of community and commitment that come from
"going for the Gold" set the foundation for a lifetime of active citizenship.
Stephanie Halkenn, the Program Specialist for the Girl Scouts of Minnesota and
Wisconsin River Valleys will be at the meeting to introduce the four Prior Lake
young women who received the Gold Award this year (Alexa Ablard, Devon
Marschall, Madalyn Randolph and Lindsey Remick), and talk about the projects
they completed.
Mayor Haugen will present each of the award winners with a certificate.
