AGENDA ITEM: FIRE PREVENTION WEEK
PRESENTATION: October 5 through 11, 2008 is Fire Prevention Week. The Fire Department will
be conducting fire prevention and safety awareness activities. During this week
the fire fighters visit classrooms, distribute fire prevention materials and the week
culminates with open houses that include activities such as station tours and fire
truck rides, ambulance tours and blood pressure checks, and fire extinguisher
sales. This year open houses will be conducted both at Station No. 1 and NO.2.
The open house at Station NO.2 will commence with a ribbon cutting ceremony
at 10 a.m. commemorating this new building. Attached is a proclamation for the
Mayor to read and sign proclaiming the week of October 5 - 11 as Fire
Prevention Week in Prior Lake.
