HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-006 RESOLUTION 03-06 ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE , REPAIRING, AND PAINTING OF THE CITY'S TWO WATER TOWERS CITY PROJECT #03-01 MOTION BY:PETERSEN SECOND BY: ZIESKA WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the Cleaning, Repairing and Painting of the City's two water towers, City Project #03-01; WHEREAS, the following bids complying with the advertisement were received, opened, and tabulated according to law: 750,000 Gallon Tower Street Tower BIDDER AMOUNT OF BID Classic Protective Coatings, Inc. $528,527 Odland Protective Coatings, Inc. $536,900 TMI Coatings, Inc. $620,000 LeadCon, Inc. $648,000 1,000,000 Gallon Crest Avenue Tower BIDDER AMOUNT OF BID Champion Coatings, Inc. $469,000 Odland Protective Coatings, Inc. $514,775 Classic Protective Coatings, Inc. $540,735 TMI Coatings, Inc. $534,400 LeadCon, Inc. $652,000 WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that Classic Protective Coatings, Inc. of Menomonie, Wisconsin is the lowest responsible bidder for the Tower Street tower project, and Champion Coatings, Inc., of Lakeville, Minnesota is the lowest responsible bidder for the Crest Avenue tower project. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PRIOR LAKE, 1. The recitals set forth above are incorporated as if fully set forth herein. 2. The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized to enter into the City's standard contract with Classic Protective Coatings, Inc. of Menomonie, Wisconsin in the name of the City of Prior Lake for the Cleaning, Repairing, and Painting of the Tower Street water tower in the amount of $528,527.00. 16200 Eagle Creek Ave. S.E., Prior Lake, Minnesota 55372-1714 / Ph. The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized to enter into the City's standard contract with Champion Coatings, Inc. of Lakeville, Minnesota in the name of the City of Prior Lake for the Cleaning, Repairing, and Painting of the Crest Avenue water tower in the amount of $469,000.00. 4. Funds for this work shall be drawn from the Water and Sewer Utility Fund in an amount not to exceed $997,527. 5. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to return to all bidders the deposits made with their bids once the contracts have been signed. Passed and adopted this 6th day of January 2003.
