HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-13 RESOLUTION 02-13 A RESOLUTON APPROVING A THREE-YEAR LEASE OF THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 16220 MAIN AVENUE. Motion By: PETERSEN Second By: GUNDLACH WHEREAS, the 720 square foot Hennen building located at 16220 Main Avenue in Downtown Prior Lake is vacant; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to retain ownership of the building so that it continues to be a publicly-owned asset; and WHEREAS, the Downtown Redevelopment Guide and Downtown Ordinance recommend building designs and uses which are appropriate for the Downtown area; and WHEREAS, a general office is one of the appropriate uses in the Downtown area; and WHEREAS, WC Enterprises d/b/a Batteries Plus has executed a three-year lease agreement which provides for improvement of the building exterior in accordance with the Downtown Redevelopment Guide and Downtown Ordinance; and WHEREAS, Batteries Plus will maintain the interior and exterior of the building as part of the lease agreement. NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Prior Lake that the following are hereby adopted: 1. The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein. 2. The Lease Agreement dated January 22, 2002 is hereby approved. 3. The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized to execute said Lease Agreement on behalf of the City. 4. Funds for improvements associated with this Lease Agreement in an amount not to exceed $6,000 are allocated from the Contingency account. PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 22nd DAY OF JANUARY, 2002.
