RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE
2020 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN LAND USE MAP FOR PROPERTY LOCATED IN SECTION 28,
TOWNSHIP 115, RANGE 22

RECITALS
WHEREAS, Shamrock Development submitted an application for an amendment to the City of Prior
Lake 2020 Comprehensive Plan Land Use Map to change the designation of the
following described property from the C-CC (Community Retail Shopping) designation to
the R-HD (High Density Residential) designation:
Legal Description:
That part of the North Half of the Northeast Quarter of Section 28, Township 115, Range
22, Scoff County, Minnesota described as follows:
Commencing at the Northwest corner of said North Half of the Northeast Quarter; thence
on an assumed bearing of South 89 degrees 36 minutes 20 seconds East along the
north line of said North Half of the Northeast Quarter, a distance of 1710,52 feet; thence
South 00 degrees 23 minutes 40 seconds West, a distance of 125.00 feet; thence
southwesterly a distance of 236.03 feet; along a tangential curve, con,ye to the
northwest, having a central angle of 78 degrees !7 minutes 18 seconds and a radius of
172.74 feet to the point of beginning of the land to be described; thence continuing
southwesterly, along said curve, a distance of 3.63 feet; thence South 79 degrees 53
minutes 17 seconds West, tangent to said curve, a distance of 286.96 feet; thence
westerly, a diStance of 85.63 feet, along a tangential curve, concave to the north, having
a central angle of 10 degrees 30 minutes 23 seconds and a radius of 467.00 feet; thence

WHEREAS, Legal notice of the public hearing was duly published and mailed in accordance with
Minnesota Statutes and Prior Lake City Code; and
WHEREAS, The Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on May 13, 2002, for those
interested in this request to present their views; and
WHEREAS, On May 13, 2002, the Planning Commission recommended approval of the proposed
amendment to the Comprehensive Plan on the basis the R-HD designation is consistent
with the goals and objectives of the Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, On June 3, 2002, the Prior Lake City Council considered the proposed amendment to
the 2020 Comprehensive Plan Land Use Map to designate the above described property
to the R-HD designation and;
WHEREAS, The City Council received the recommendation of the Planning Commission to approve
the proposed Comprehensive Plan amendment along with the staff reports and the
minutes of the Planning Commission meeting; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has carefully considered the testimony, staff reports and other pertinent
information contained in the record of decision of this case.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PRIOR LAKE, MINNESOTA, that:
1. The above recitals are herein fully incorporated herein as set forth above.
2. The proposed amendment to the 2020 Comprehensive Plan Land Use Map to designate the above
described property as R-HD (Low to Medium Density Residential) is hereby approved.
3. Approval of this amendment is subject to the approval of the Metropolitan Council.
