RE: EXCA V ATING/FILLING PERMIT
LOT 31, CANDY COVE PARK
Dear Mr. Touhy:
The Engineering and Planning Departments have reviewed the subject permit and have the
following comments:
1. According to the surveyor, there are no significant trees withi~ the grading limits.
This area should be defined by some sort of fencing to ensure no significant trees will
, '
be removed. ;
2. Since the driveway is temporary, and for thel specific purpose of obtaining soil
borings, the applicant will be required to submit a Letter of Credit to ensure
restoration of the area within 6 months in the event there is not an approved building
permit at that time. · I
3. Revise the survey to show installation of a 20-foot long by 6 inch deep rock
construction entrance (1" - 2" clear rock) behind the concrete curb.
4. A nonrefundable permit fee of $126.50 will be required.
The permit will be issued when all comments are addressed. Staff would also like to meet with
you at your convenience to discuss a potential trail easement through your property. If you have

Attached is a copy of the grading permit for 5584 Candy Cove Trail. There is a discrepancy in
hauling quantities between what is labeled on the plan versus what calculations show. This is
one issue that needs to be resolved at Monday's meeting. Hopefully this matter can be resolved
at that time.

The silt fence along the west side of the property and on the north end, as shown on the map,
should be installed before any grading begins. The rock construction entrance should also be
installed. The silt fence at the entrance will go in after the test holes and/or seeding is complete.
Give me a call at 447-9832 after the silt fence is up, and I will take a look at it, to keep all of the
interested parties happy.

I have reviewed the above grading permit application for a temporary driveway,
and have the following comments:
1. According to the surveyor, there are no significant trees within the grading
limits. This area should be defined by some sort of fencing to ensure no
significant trees will be removed.
2. Since the driveway is temporary, and for the specific purpose of obtaining soil
borings, the applicant should be required to submit a Letter of Credit to ensure
restoration of the area within a specific timeline.
