Dear Mr. Sonka:
The Engine~ing and Planning Departments have reviewed the subject permit and are
prepared to ~pprove it subject to the following conditions and/or clarifications:
1) The landing at the top of the stairs exceeds 32 square feet in area and must be revised
on the pl~n.
2) The areaiat the bottom of the stairs is to be part of the dock structure. Indicate this on
the plan.
3) A nonrefundable permit fee of $60.50 must be submitted prior to issuance of the
permit as well as a certificate of insurance from the contractor who will be doing the
work.
When the items listed above are addressed, the City will issue the permit. If you have
any questions, please call me at 447-9831.

The two lots have been officially combined and recorded.
The landing at the top of the stairs exceeds 32 square feet in area. I have
asked Mr. Sonka to eliminate or revise this area.

Hello. Here is a!re-submission for an Excavating/Grading Permit for a project at 6096 150th
Street in Prior Lake. I have enclosed a new plan with the corrections you requested, plus
another copy of {he plat map, which shows the existing elevations and location of the proiect.
The plan is in 1'I= 10' scale.
The revisions you have requested are as follows:
(1)The landing ~t the top of the stairs has been decreased in size to under 32 square feet.
(2)The dock structure at the base of the stairs has been labeled.
(3) I will submitia check for $60.50, by hand-delivery or mail, before end of Thursday.
(4) Our liability insurance provider will be faxing a certificate of insurance in the next day.
Please contact me at my office if there are any questions, at 651.776.5312, as I would like

Dear Mr. Sonka:
The Engineering and Planning Departments have reviewed the subject permit and are prepared to

1) The requirements for stairways, lifts and landings in the Shoreland District (1104.308,5)
include the following:
i) Stairways and lifts may not exceed 4' in width.
ii) Landings for stairways and lifts may not exceed 32 square feet in area.
iii) The required lakeshore setback for landings is 10' from the ordinary high water
elevation (904). The landings shall not project into the required side yard.
If the plansi are to scale, the proposed stairway and landing do not appear to meet these
requirements. Please provide additional information in order for a complete review.
2) This proposal adds impervious surface to the lot. This will require completion of an
impervious surface worksheet (attached).
3) Provide sil~ fence along the shoreline to protect the lake from erosion during construction.

The Engineering Department has reviewed the preliminary plans for the subject project and
we have theifollowing comments:
1. Provide silt fence along the shoreline to protect the lake from erosion during construction.
The silt fence barrier needs to be maintained during the entire construction period, until
vegetation is established.
2. Grading plan review fee is $23.50..
3. Grading permit fee is $37.00
4. Total permit fee is $60.50.

approved until this combination is recorded.

I don!t know if the plans I have are to scale, but if so, the proposed stairway and
landiXag do not appear to meet the requirements of Section 1104.308, 5. We will

Dear Sue or Lani:
Hello. Here is a Submission for an Excavating/Grading Permit for a project this spring at the Steve
and Sue Balaam F/esidence. Their address is 6096 150* Street in Prior Lake. I have enclosed all the
pertinent information, including the plat map with contours, and portions of the master plan where the
work is to take place. Both excerpts of the plans are at 1 inch equals 10 feet scale.
In general, the project will require grading with black dirt fill, along with some minor excavation to level
the terrace along the waterfront. I have made certain that the drainage swale running through the
property is maintained, and all other on-site drainage is left undisturbed.
