Dear Mr. Dankers:
On January 4, 2000, the Prior Lake Fire Department responded to a fire call at your
business. The cause of the smoke was not determined at that time. In the course of the
investigation some electrical concerns were noted. The items were: outlets and overhead
lights not working properly.
On June 1, 1998, you were issued a building permit (#98-397). This permit has not had a
final inspection. On January 6, 2000, you stated that a heating company had determined
the smoke to be generated by a furnace blower fan motor that has now been replaced. On
January 7, 2000, I met with one of your staff, State of Minnesota Electrical Inspector Mr.
Walt Lusian, and an electrician from Master Electric Company. The electrician had
found some additional electrical problems in addition to the previously mentioned
problems. The Electrical Inspector is requiring you to fix the existing electrical problems.
In order to have a safe tenant finish, the following items need to be completed to obtain a
final inspection on the building permit:
1. Electrical final
2. Sprinkler head relocation at offices, hallway.

Dear Mr. Dankers:
Following are the results of the Plan Review for the Priordale Mall New Horizon Communications
office. Our review was based on the Minnesota State Building Code (MSBC) which has adopted with
amendments the 1994 Uniform Building Code (UBC).
1. Separate permits for electrical, building, and fire suppression sprinkler.
2. The distance from walls for sprinkler heads shall not exceed one half of the allowable distance
between sprinkler heads. NFPA 13 Section 4-4.1.2.1
3. Sprinkler system must be evaluated by a licensed contractor for compliance and brought to
minimum standards compliance. UFC 1001.5.1. Report of inspection will be required.
4. Sprinkler system shall be monitored in an approved manner. UBC 904.3
5. Handicap parking required. Add 1 handicap parking stall. UBC 1107
6. Provide emergency lighting.
7. Provide supply and returns in enclosed offices.
