BIOSIMulations, LLC 08 August 2006 City of Prior Lake Att: Building Inspector 17073 Adelman St. SE Prior Lake, MN 55372 Re: Russ Parlow Residence 16250 Evanston Avenue SE Prior Lake, MN 55372 To Whom It May Concern: On August 02, 2006, I inspected the roof truss repair efforts in progress at the above referenced residence. Present during the inspection were the homeowner, Mr. Russ Parlow, and myself, Svenn E. Borgersen, PE. The roof truss damage had been incurred due to a chimney fIre, which had burned through the first floor fire-stop blocking around the sheet metal chimney. My inspection found that surface charring has been removed on existing truss members, and the trusses have been repaired by adding new wood bracing members to both sides of the damaged truss members. Having inspected the truss construction and other work in progress, it is my opinion, as a Registered Engineer in the State of Minnesota that: I-The trusses are properly repaired, have more strength after repair than before, and should be adequate to support the structure, as intended. 2-All work appears to have been performed in a workmanlike manner. 3- The work has been performed in accordance with all applicable building codes and requirements.
