Dear Mr. Jahn:
This letter is concerning the 16' front entry garage door header for plan #3036,EJ6vatioo "S" In the
Copper RIdge subdivision. The base plan specified a 2~p1y 9%" LVL for the garage door header. With the
assumption that the ,garage trusses were spanning. side to side and did not bear on tbe front wall. For
Elevation -B", the trusses span front to back and bear on the 16' garage door header, but no header size
is specified. Based on the 2006 IRe required gravity loading, the garage door header should be a
2 - 1% x 14" LVL (1.8E) and should be supported,on 2-2x4's at eooh end.
