This tetter is concerning the 16' front entry garage door header . for plan #303e,EJ8vatlon "6" In the
Copper Ridge subdivision. The base plan specified a 2~ply 91h" LVL for the garage door header. wlth the
assumption that the garage trusses were spanning. side to slde and did not bear on the front wall. For
Elevation "a", the trusses span front 10 back and bear on the 16' garage door header, but no header size
is specified. Based on the 2006 IRe required gravity loading. the garage door header should be a
2 ~ f~ x 14" LVl (1.8E) and should be supported,on 2-2x4~s at eaoh end.
