Call to Order: Present were: Sandi Fleck, Mary Viereck, Terry Gutowski, Mike Myser, William Henry, Bruce Capra, Deno Howard, Mike Myser, Danette Parr, Frank Boyles 2. Approval of Apri130, 2010, Meeting Minutes. Motion was made by William Henry and seconded by Terry Gutowski to approve the minutes. Unanimously approved. 3. Old Business a. Upcoming Business, Civic and Community Events • Farmer's Market -Saturdays -there was discussion about whether it is appropriate to have an EDAC representative present. • Lakefront Days -Sandi Fleck talked about the wine tasting event on Thursday. This is a business event which would cost the EDAC $60/table and $10 per person attending. • Community Fa11 Fest -the Committee concurred that the EDAC should get a table for this event. If members are going to attend such events, there was agreement that name tags should be acquired. Danette will look into this. Mike Myser suggested more current numbers (household income, etc.) be included in the marketing piece. Consensus was to update when we reprirnt. b. Vacancy List Danette reported that a questionnaire was sent to businesses to update their lease information. c. Retention Interviews Get interviews done before the next meeting so Factual Information and Pros and Cons can be discussed next time. We will see if we can determine the issues by examining the content. Discussed whether the data should be migrated from Excel to Access, but no particular benefit could be determined. Staffwill continue to look at software which would allow for manipulation of information. 4. Other Business a. Sign Ordinance Update • Danette Parr reviewed a PowerPoint. Reviewed reasons for sign regulations, types of signs, associated regulations. Perspectives differ between business and populous. Want to give people more options. Particular examples include sandwich boards and banner signs. Deno suggested that businesses be given an option. b. County Road 21 Update Frank Boyles and Mike Myser discussed the status. This will be an agenda item at the June 24 EDAC meeting and ultimately for the EDA. The remainder of the items on the agenda were deferred. Next meeting: Thursday, July 29, 2414 from 7:30 - 9 a.m. Meetings are moving to Thursdays for the summer.
