CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
February 20, 2001
4F
AL FRIEDGES, PARKS SUPERVISOR
BUD OSMUNDSON, PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR
CONSIDER APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING
EXPENDITURES FOR MISCELLANEOUS PARK APPURTENANT
EQUIPMENT AS IDENTIFIED IN THE 2001 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT
PROGRAM
History
The Parks portion of the Capital Improvement Program (C.I.P.) includes a variety of
smaller purchases under the heading of appurtenant equipment. While these purchases
do not exceed the $25,000 bid limit, they do require City Council authorization to
expend the money because the funds are part of the Capital Improvement Program.
The purpose of this agenda item is to authorize the staff to proceed with these
purchases in accordance with city code and the purchasing policy. The council would
approve each purchase as part of the invoices to be paid.
These purchases include items such as athletic field fence, bleachers, picnic tables, park
benches, player benches, bike racks, grills, and drinking fountains. This equipment
will be installed in our new parks as well as replacements, due to wear or vandalism.
Each purchase will be made in accordance with city code and city purchasing policy.
