Mayor Mader
City of Prior Lake

Prior Lake, MN 55372
Dear Mayor Mader,
May 3rd will mark the 50th annual National Day of Prayer. Minnesota Valley
Community Church will once again be hosting the prayer service for Prior Lake at 7pm.
As in past years, we are asking that the city officials issue a proclamation recognizing the
importance of prayer and call upon the residents of Prior Lake to participate. We would
also like to extend an invitation to you to once again read the proclamation at that service.
We appreciated your participation in past years and hope that your schedule will allow
you to attend.
God has been faithful to Prior Lake in the past years. He has provided wisdom for our
leadership when called upon. He has blessed the citizens with peace and prosperity, but
there is still much to bring before God in prayer. We are 'urged to fIrst of all pray, make
requests, intercede, and give thanksgiving on behalf of everyone-for kings and all those
in authority....'(1 Timothy 2:1-2a).
Our theme this year is "One Nation Under God" based on Psalm 33:12 which reminds us
"Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord...". Prayer is our greatest hope-not just
on one special day a year, but every day of our lives. I look forward to hearing from you
soon.
Sincerely,
&-~".~~

CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
MEETING DATE: April 19, 2001
AGENDA #: 6A
PREPARED BY: Frank Boyles, City Manager
AGENDA ITEM: PRESENTATION: FEASABILlTY STUDY ON SHORELAND EROSION
CORRECTIVE MEASURES FOR UPPER AND LOWER PRIOR LAKE-STEVE
MCCOMAS
PRESENTATION: One of the first Comprehensive Lake Management Plan (CLMP) work activities
approved by the Council was to conduct a shoreline inventory. The purpose of
the inventory was to identify public and privately owned land which requires
improvement to reduce and eliminate erosion and siltation into the lake. The
report also identifies various ways and costs for protecting shorelines.
For public properties, the City may schedule necessary work over time as part of
the Capital Improvement Program. Private property work is to be accomplished
by the property owners. The City attempts to facilitate such efforts by sharing
information about types of improvements and available vendors.
Steve McComas, who completed the work for the City will be present to share
the results of study and respond to City Council questions. A copy of the report is
attached for your review.

CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
MEETING DATE: April 16, 2001
AGENDA #: 6B
PREPARED BY: Frank Boyles, City Manager
AGENDA ITEM: Presentation: Status Report on Prior Lake Transit Redesign Project-Sue
Walsh
PRESENTATION: Believing that the City can provide better more cost effective transit to Prior Lake
residents the City Council has directed the staff to remove the City from the
MVT A and prepare to assume responsibility for transit service provision
beginning January 2, 2002.
To date, the staff has conducted a survey of riders to determine system strengths
and opportunities for improvement. The staff has also prepared a request for
bids for the commuter part of the system which is the most expensive of the
transit services provided and requires the greatest lead time for implementation.
Assistant City Manager Susan Walsh will provide the Council with an overview of
what we learned from the survey and how that information has been incorporated
into bidding documents. Finally she will provide the Council with a timeline for
implementation of the new service. The presentation takes about 10 minutes.
