Nominee Background Information

Bernard Carlson: Owner of Carlson's Ace Hardware on Main and CSAH 21. Carlson possess a
B.S. in accounting and economics. He is also a certified public accountant.
Christopher Dahl: Dahl is presently the Regional Sales Manager of Hussman Corporation, a
manufacturer of refrigerator and heated display units for the restaurant industry. He is a
graduate of Pepper dine University with a B.A. in business administration and lives in Prior Lake.
Dave Dornbusch: Dornbusch is a Prior Lake resident who, through his entrepreneurial
knowledge, has fostered two flourishing businesses.
Madison Groves: A five-year Prior Lake resident, Groves has a MBA in management and
presently works for William M. Mercer, Inc. specializing in human resources, employee benefit
and compensation.
Bob Jader: Involved in technology for over 30 years, Jader is the President of Jader Enterprises
which provides business and technology consulting services. Jader is a 20 year resident of Prior
Lake.
Rebecca Janisch: An Apple Valley resident, Janisch has occupied various senior level
manager positions over her 25 year business career. Presently she is general manager of
Integra Telecom located in Prior Lake.
Charlene Jasan: With 30 years experience in the business world, Jasan is presently Senior
Vice President for Bossardt Corporation, a professional construction management firm. Jasan
specializes in corporate administration and operations and is a Prior Lake resident.

Layton Kinney: A resident of Prior Lake, Kinney earned a Bachelor of Business Administration
degree and has extensive executive level work experience. Now retired, Kinney worked
extensively for Control Data Corporation in various executive level positions including President
of Control Data Canada, Ltd., Vice President of the Minnesota cooperation office, and
consultant for corporate development.
Steve Kramer: A resident of Prior Lake, Kramer is a graduate of St. John's University and
Northwestern College of Chiropractic. He is the President of Kramer Chiropractic Health Center
and recently relocated his business to Prior Lake. Kramer is a Board member of the Prior Lake
Chamber of Commerce.
Ellen Mathison: Possessing 16 years of experience in the mortgage banking industry and
presently is a real estate loan officer for Marquette Bank Prior Lake, Mathison is an active
member of the Prior Lake community.
Bill Packer: A long-standing Prior Lake resident, Packer has accumulated a considerable
business background during the many years his family owned and managed Scott Rice
Telephone.

Paul Viereck: Owner of Viereck Fireplace and Home Accents, Viereck is a 15-year resident of
Prior Lake. Viereck is also the owner and operator of the Viereck Ranch in Kimball, South
Dakota.
Christine Walsh: A resident of Prior Lake, Walsh is currently pursuing a Master's degree in
Planning, Housing and Urban Development. Walsh possess over 15 years experience as a
senior project manager in various commercial developments and redevelopments. She is
currently Vice President of Merchandising and Manager of Store Planning for Holiday
Stationstores.

AGENDA ITEM: CONSIDER APPROVAL OF APPOINTMENT OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
COUNCIL.
DISCUSSION: Historv: The City Council has directed that a Business Development Council be
created to provide advice on development related activities. Moreover, the
Council directed that formulation of this body be accomplished by the end of
April. Accordingly, the Mayor has asked that this item be placed on the agenda.

MOTION:
The Business Development Council is to be composed of Prior Lake
businesspersons or Prior Lake residents with considerable business experience.
Advertisements seeking applicants for the Business Development Council were
published in the Prior Lake American.

Current Circumstances: ~ individuals meeting the City Council's criteria have
submitted applications. Attached for Council review are the materials received
from each candidate.
Conclusion: The Mayor will nominate the applicants and the Council will be
asked to confirm the nominations.
The Council has already decided to create the Business Development Council. It
is anticipated that the Business Development Council will conduct quarterly
business meetings to consider issues referred to it by the City Council. The first
meeting is expected within sixty days.
(1) Confirm the nominations for the Business Development Council.
(2) Take no action.
