HomeMy WebLinkAbout96-75 RE ~INNESO~~ RESOLUTION AWARDING BID FOR THE NSTRUCTION OF A SALT/SAND STORAGE BUILDING MOTION BY: Kedrowski SECOND BY: Schenck WHEREAS, the need for a storage facility to store salt and sand is essential to the street snow and ice maintenance efforts of the public works department, and WHEREAS, an indoor salt/sand storage facility facilitates more cost effective snow and ice control, and WHEREAS, an indoor structure better protects the environment from the destructive effects of salt, and WHEREAS, a precast salt and sand storage building with a 2,500 ton capacity is recommended, and WHEREAS, bids have been solicited and received for the construction of a Salt/Sand storage building as follows: CONTRACTOR Hunnerburg Construction J.S. Cates Construction CM Construction Northfield Construction Merrimac Construction Morcon Construction FNC Construction BID AMOUNT $174,975.00 $180,000.00 $180,000.00 $180,650.00 $187,998.00 $210,000.00 No Bid NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Prior Lake that it should and hereby does award bid for the construction of a Salt/Sand Storage Building be awarded to Hunnerburg Construction at a cost not to exceed $174,975.00. Said funds for this project will be allocated from the following: 1. $100,000.00 from the original budget. 2. $11,914.00 remaining from the original budget due to cost savings. 3. $37,394.00 from additional interest earnings. 4. $34,947.00 from the Sewer and Water Fund balance.
