HomeMy WebLinkAbout5D - Appointments to Advisory CommitteesISSUES: FINANCIAL IMPACT: The City Council Bylaws specify a process for soliciting and interviewing candi- dates to fill a vacancy on the Council committees and commissions. That process was followed. There is a cost or at least a potential of cost for the staff to provide administrative support to the committees on an ongoing basis and for City Council members to attend the meetings as liaisons. Given the cutbacks we have made to staff, this function has become increasingly challenging. On the other hand, local govern- ment benefits from having the input of residents to accomplish the many goals and objectives identified in our 2030 Vision and Strategic Plan. ALTERNATIVES: 1. Adopt the resolutions approving the recommendations for appointment as submitted by the sub- committees. 2. Adopt the resolutions with amendments. 3. Take no action and direct the staff accordingly.
