JANET RINGBERG, LICENSE CLERK
CONSIDER APPROVAL OF AN ON-SALE INTOXICATING,
OFF -SALE INTOXICATING, AND SUNDAY LIQUOR
LICENSE FOR CAPTAIN JACK'S
Current Circumstances
The owners of Green Heights Lake Club have recently acquired four
new partners and they have formed a new corporation, Dockside LLC.
Under this new corporation they have renamed Green Heights Lake
Club to Captain Jack's. Captain Jack's is applying for an on-sale
intoxicating, off -sale intoxicating, and a Sunday liquor license in
order to sell intoxicating liquor at 3950 Green Heights Trail SW.
Green Heights Lake Club previously had an on-sale intoxicating and a
Sunday liquor license. Captain Jack's is requesting to add an off-sale
intoxicating license for this establishment.
The Issues
Captain Jack's has paid the $5,300.00 on-sale intoxicating, $150.00
off-sale intoxicating, and the $200.00 Sunday license fees. They have
provided the City with all required documents and have provided proof
of liquor liability insurance. All county taxes are current for Captain
Jack's. The Prior Lake Police Department has completed its
investigation and has found no reason to deny these license requests.
The City Council has the following alternatives:
1. Adopt a motion approving the on-sale intoxicating, off-sale
intoxicating, and Sunday liquor licenses.
2 Deny the liquor license requests.
Staff recommends Council approve the on-sale intoxicating, off-sale
intoxicating, and S nday liquor license for Captain Jack's.
