CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
JUL Y 2, 2001
4C
JANET RINGBERG, LICENSE CLERK
CONSIDER APPRO V AL OF TEMPORARY 3.2 LIQUOR
LICENSE FOR PRIOR LAKE ATHLETICS FOR YOUTH
(P.L.A.Y.)
Current Circumstances
P.L.A.Y., in conjunction with the Prior Lake Chamber of Commerce,
is requesting a temporary 3.2 liquor license in order to sell 3.2 beer at
Lakefront Days. They have requested, and been granted a temporary
3.2 liquor license in past years. P.L.A.Y. will be selling 3.2 beer in the
entertainment tent located at Lakefront Park from 5:30 P.M.
until midnight on Friday, August 3,2001 and from 11 :30 A.M. until
midnight on Saturday, August 4,2001.
The Issues
Dram shop insurance will be carried through the Minnesota Joint
Underwriting Association. The Prior Lake Police Department has
found no reason to deny the application. P .L.A. Y. will pay to have a
security officer present at the tent on both days of the event.
The City Council has the following alternatives:
1. Adopt a motion as part of the consent agenda approving the
temporary 3.2 liquor license for P .L.A. Y.
2. Deny the temporary 3.2 liquor license request.
Staff recommends Council approve the temporary 3.2 liquor license
for P.L.A.Y. for the period of August 3, 2001 through August 4,2001.
