HomeMy WebLinkAboutPresent: Downtown Zoning CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT July 2, 2001 ~ 6A . ~ Frank Boyles, City Manag~ AGENDA ITEM: Presentation: Downtown District Zoning Ordinance Status Report (Augie Wong, URS/BRW) DISCUSSION: History: Downtown Redevelopment has been a City priority for some years now. Last year, Hoisington Koegler completed a Downtown Redevelopment Study which explored three themes for the development of Downtown, set forth proposed allowable uses, and discussed design criteria. The Council reviewed the document and directed that the Lake theme be used, that allowable uses be refined and development standards be established. The staff has been working with the consulting firm of URS/BRW to develop criteria and ordinance language. Current Circumstances: Augie Wong, representing URS/BRW will provide a presentation to the City Council outlining their progress to date in preparing the requested amendments to the City's Zoning Ordinance which will identify graphically and in narrative from the specific requirements for Downtown redevelopment. Conclusion: Mr. Wong would like to solicit the Council's input to assure that URS/BRW's efforts will address the Council's desires. A final draft ordinance is expected to be ready for Planning Commission hearings late in July. 16200 Eagle Creek Ave. S.E., Prior Lake, Minnesota 55372-1714 / Ph.
