The Library is located in the west side of the building The east side of the Library building houses Club Prior, the Cities Resources and Recreation Center for Adults 55+. The City is requesting quotes for replacement of a11 of the under building refrigerant piping. Alternate # 1 consists of replace only piping which is determined to be leaking but providing for openings and hangers for the remaining piping which may need to be replaced in the future. Substantia.l completion of the project is required by June 1, 2009. PROJECT DESCRIPTION The City of Prior Lake owns the Scott County Library building in downtown Prior Lake. The Library is located in the west side of the building The east side of the Library building houses Club Prior, the Cities Resources and Recreation Center for Adults 55+. Two condensing units axe located in a fenced in area on the east side of the building. One is utilized for the Library space and the other unit is for the Club Prior space. Refrigerate piping runs from the condensing units under the building to air handling units located in the basement of the building. The project consists of replacing a11 the underground refrigerant piping with piping that is routed horizontally in the attic of the building and then vertically through a closet in Club Prior to the air handling units in the basement. Plans and specifications are included in this Request For Quote. Altemate #l: Condensing Unit number 1(CU-1) has two circuits which serve the Library. Presently circuit #1 has a leak in either the suction or liquid line. Circuit #2 is operating conectly. Condensing Unit number 2(CU-2) with one circuit serves Club Prior. Presently either the suction, liquid � or hot gas bypass lines has a leak. At CU-1 circuit #1, determine which pipe either the suction or liquid line has a leak and at CU-2 detennine which pipe either the suction, liquid or hot gas bypass line has a leak and replace both pipes on each unit. The CU-1 circuit #1 hot gas bypass needs to be rerouted from circuat #2 to circuit #l. The replacement pipe would be routed as per the plans. All hangers, outside holes drilled through the brick w Phone 952.447.9800 / Fax 952.447.4263 , � � ,` and inside holes through the concrete floor panels are required to be drilled for the remaining future piping. All unused holes must be filled with approved filler. While the work is being preformed, Club Prior will remain open for business. A schedule indicating the days that are available to work within the Club Prior space is included with the specifications. An onsite project review meeting will take place on May 4, 2009. All questions can be answered at that time only. SUMMARY OF REQUIRED SERVICES The selected contractor shall complete the replacing a11 the underground refrigerant piping with piping installed as per plans and specifications. Alternate #1: The selected contractor sha11 complete the replacement of only the identified leaking underground refrigerant piping and install openings in wa11s and floors and hangers for the remaining future piping as per plans and specifications. CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS 1. See plans and specifications dated December 17, 2007. DATA COLLECTION 1. Call Gopher State to assemble utility location information. 2. An onsite project review meeting will take place on Monday May 4, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. PERMITTING Complete permitting for the project. Permits which may be required include: 1. City of Prior Lake mechanical permit. There is a no charge for the permit. 2. Any State or Federal agencies permitting. CITY RESPONSIBILITIES The City will perform the following functions on this project: 1. Construct stud wa11 and gypsum wallboard chase in Club Prior closet. PRELIlVIINARY PROJECT SCHEDULE Deadline for quotes May 6, 2009 City Council approval May 18, 2009 Start date May 19, 2009 Construction completion date June 1, 2009 QUOTES CONTENTS The quotes should include a project scope, project understanding, and schedule.
