Bennett and Linstedt noted that the results of the four studies showed a very close correlation with only a plus or minus 4% variation from the mean for total per capita water usage. They further stated that "these results are significantly lower than the values. . . of 75 gallons per capita per day for a single family residence or 60 gallons per day for multiple family residences." Bennet and Linstedt stated that, while other sources of literature produced a wider range of values, the quantities presented in Figure A-I were selected because they were representative of field measured values for the wastewater generated in individual homes. It should be noted that, while the mean daily per capita water use appears to be somewhat less than 50 gallons per day, this is an average value. Some individuals and homes may use water at a considerable higher rate. .Jf, :I ;, -= f .' i: ~, i;;' Estimated Sewage Flows in Gallons per day Consider (gpd) 75 gpd as Average Per Capita Use Number Type l ~e II type III of Type 2-2-~ .,L - l.-D -:. ,~.;;:.
