HomeMy WebLinkAbout98-73RESOLUTION 98-73 AUTHORIZING TIlE AWARD OF llID FOR TIlE CONgTRUCTION OF ROAD, TRAIL, AND PARKING LOT IMPROVEMENTS IDENTIFIED IN THE 1998 PARKS CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM. MOTION BY: KEDROWSKI SECOND BY: PETERSEN WHEREAS, the following road, trails, and parking lot projects are scheduled for completion in the 1998 Capital Improvement Program: The Ponds Athletic Complex road, parking lot and trails Memorial Park parking lot and trail WHEREAS, the City of Prior lake is committed to providing Trails, Parking Lots, and other park amenities in accordance with the Comprehensive Park and Trail Plan, and WHEREAS, trails provide our residents the opportunity to enjoy our City Parks, and WHEREAS, trails are an essential link between neighborhoods and business areas, and parks, and WHEREAS, parking lots provide off street parking for park users and reduce congestion on City streets, and WHEREAS, the City's Capital Improvement Program scheduled this construction in 1998 and allocates funds therefore, and WHEREAS, pursuant to the call for bids for concrete curb and gutter and bituminous for these projects, the following bids were solicited, received, and tabulated as follows: Concrete Curb & Gutter VENDOR Jim Clausen Constr. (612) 447-4230 / Fax (612) 447-4245 AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER WHEREAS, After analyzing the bids, the apparent lowest responsible bidder is Jim Clausen Construction for concrete curb and gutter work in the amount of $38,768.00 and Valley Paving for bituminous work in the amount of $84,399.66 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PRIOR LAKE, Minnesota, that award of bids for Road, Trails, and Parking Lot Improvement projects be approved as set forth above. FURTHER, The City Manager is hereby authorized to return bid securities submitted with the proposals to the vendors following the execution of contract; and, FURTHER, The Mayor and city Manager are authorized to execute the contract on behalf of the City.
