RE: BOOSTER STATION; THE WILDS
PRIOR LAKE, MINNESOTA
Dear Gary:
The Wilds took bids on the booster station. The bids that were received were over the
budget figure for constructing the building. MSA was subsequently asked to make changes
in an effort to reduce construction costs. A summary of the major changes that were made
follows:
■ The earth fill was pulled away from the building. This per{nitted a change from a
reinforced concrete foundation wall to a reinforced masonry foundation wall.
■ The redwood siding was eliminated and replaced with a combination of rock face
block and brick.
■ Cedar materials were substituted for redwood materials for the soffit.
■ The false redwood lowers were eliminated.
■ The architectural rock treatment at the corner of the building was eliminated.
1326 Energy Park Drive
Sr. Pal MN 55108 Three (3) copies of Addendum No. 2 are attached for your review. Because of the number
612-644-4389 of changes, particularly the change from a reinforced concrete foundation wall to a
reinforced masonry foundation wall, I felt that you should be offered the opportunity to
Fax: 612-644-9446 review the addendum.
9800 Shelard Parkway The changes that were made were discussed with both Larry Anderson and Blair Tremere.
Minneapolis, MN 5544 I believe the ch.anges were acceptable to both of them.

been eliminated from the inside face of the exterior walls.
■ The exterior walls have been modified for cavity wall construction. The
modifications include an 8-inch CMU back-up wall, a cavity consisting of a 1-inch
air space and 2 inches of extruded insulation, and either 4-inch face brick or 4-inch
rock face block, as shown on the revised Drawing A2.
■ The 12-inch CMU foundation block has been changed to 14-inch CMU foundation
block, as shown on the revised Drawing A2.
■ The interior faces of the exterior walls are to be painted with two coats of epoxy

changes made by Addendum No. 3. The bidder (Amcon) is advised that the changes shown
on the revised Drawing A2 will require dimensional changes in the building layout that have
not been shown on any revised drawings. In laying out the building, the bidder (Amcon)
shall hold interior dimensions and vary exterior dimensions accordingly. It shall be
understood that all other modifications necessary to incorporate the changes made by
Addendum No. 3 shall be the responsibility of the bidder (Amcon).

RE: Wild's Booster Station Punchlist
Dear Judd,
As a follow-up to our inspection on April 16, 1998 the following needs to be completed

• Replace 2 dead Marshall Seedless Ash trees and 2 pine trees (One Austrian Pine and
one Black Spruce). One of the ash trees replaces the dead on in the front of the
building. The other three are to be located on the dry soil towards the rear and side of
the building.
• 1 SJR Japanese Red Spirea is missing from the area in front of the parking area. I
have enclosed a copy of the legend detailing the size of the items to be replanted.
Please call myself or Jay Scherer in the Building Department for a final inspection once
these items have been completed.

RE: The Wilds Booster Station
Dear Jim:
I have reviewed the landscaping requirement for the Wilds Booster Station. The
minimum requirement for tree planting, based on the site permitted, is 21 trees. The
approved landscape plans indicates 21 such trees. Therefore, in regards to the trees
that have not been planted or have died you have the following options:
1. Plant the trees according to the approved plan.
2. Revise the landscape plan changing the species of trees to be more suitable for
the conditions on the site or change the location of the trees or both.
In regards to the shrubs that are missing or dead on the site, you have the following
options:
1. Plant the shrubs according to the approved plan.
2. Revise the landscape plan, removing such shrubs from the plan. The city does
not have a requirement for shrubs and the removal of them would not be in
violation of the landscape ordinance.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. If you have any questions, please contact
me at 447-4230.
