HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-056 Sanitary Sewer Improvements Proj 11-015 4646 Dakota Street SE Prior Lake, MN 55372 RESOLUTION 11 - 056 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING QUOTES FOR THE PURCHASE OF STANDARDIZED EQUIPMENT FOR THE 2011 SANITARY SEWER PROJECT 11 - 015 Motion By: Keeney Second By: Hedberg WHEREAS, The City of Prior Lake maintains more than 100 miles of sanitary sewer main, nearly 8,000 sewer connections and 39 sanitary sewer lift stations; and WHEREAS, In order to keep the system functioning properly and to meet the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust guidelines and Met Council inflow requirements , the City annually repairs and replaces sections of its sanitary sewer system: and WHEREAS, Phase 1 of the Boudin/Rutgers Neighborhood reconstruction project requires sewer improvements to th e existing sewer running under the lake; and WHEREAS, City s taff recommends the existing inverted siphon utilized between the southern terminus of Watersedge Trail and Glendale Avenue be replaced in conjunction with those improvements; and WHEREAS, The replacement of this crossing concurrent with the Boudin/Rutgers Neighborhood reconstruction project will eliminate the need for future impacts to reconstructed streets for replacement of the sewer; and The City previously adopted a Standardized Comprehensive Management and WHEREAS, Rehabilitation Plan for the purchase of standardized equipment. NOW THEREFORE , BE IT HEREBY RESOLVE D BY THE CITY COUNCI L OF PRIOR LAKE, MINNESOTA as follows: 1. The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein. 2. The City Council accepts quotes and authorizes staff to purchase necessary equipment in the amount of $81,858.77 in accordance with the Lift Station Standardization Plan. 3. The funding for the project shall come from the following Sewer Fund accounts: 604 - 49450 - 412 $55,000.00 604 - 49450 - 530 $26,858.77 nd PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 2 DAY OF MAY , 201 1 .
