PRESENTATIONS FOR (A) PRIOR LAKE LIONS CLUB, (B) RETIRING PARK
ADVISORY AND PLANNING COMMISSION MEMBERS, (C) PRIOR LAKE
GARDEN CLUB, AND (D) STREET AND UTILITIES SUPERVISOR DOUG
HARTMAN.
Prior Lake Lions Club: The Lions have been a great supporter of the Prior Lake
community and park system. They have made numerous significant financial
contributions to Lions Park which have made the park what it is today. Most
recently, the Lions Club provided a $30,000 contribution to defer much of the
$50,000 expense of the Lakefront Park Band Shelter. At a recent Lions Club
meeting, past president Bob Underferth conveyed to Mayor Mader the last
$10,000 allocation for the project. The check will be received by the Mayor at the
December 3rd meeting. We are also working with the Lions to design a
permanent plaque which will be affixed to the shelter acknowledging that the
shelter was made possible by the contribution of the Lions. We expect the plaque
to be installed as soon as it is complete and weather permits.
(B) Park Advisory Committee and Planning Commission Retirees: Park
Advisory Committee members Pat Heaney, Ron Ceminsky and Kathy Smith
have reached their term limits and are retiring. Each has made a substantial
contribution toward upgrading our park system through the completion of the
Park Referendum projects. In fact, the Council, in an unprecedented action,
extended the term of each beyond their term limit to assure that they would be
available to assist staff in completing the Referendum projects.
Tom VonHof has served on the Planning Commission since 1993. During that
time he has served as Chair of the body as well. Tom is moving out of the
community and has therefore submitted his resignation. Tom's contributions are
many and will be missed.

Prior Lake Garden Club: For several years, the Garden Club has voluntarily
designed, planted, weeded and watered the gardens at City Hall. As a result, the
gardens are a potpourri of annual and perennial flowers in a rainbow of colors,
shapes and sizes. City employees and our customers regularly comment about
the beauty provided by the gardens. We hope the Garden Club will continue this
City beautification project and want to thank them publicly for all of their efforts.

(D) Street and Utilities Supervisor DOUQ Hartman: Doug has worked for the City
since 1990, first in the Engineering division and then as Street and Utilities
Supervisor. Doug has submitted his resignation in order to become Street
Supervisor at the City of Burnsville. During his tenure, Doug was responsible on
a day-to-day basis for the operation, maintenance and repair of the City's streets,
sewer, water and storm water systems representing hundreds of millions of
dollars of public infrastructure and a customer base of over 16,000 persons.
Doug did a commendable job serving both. Prior Lake is greatly diminished by
Doug's leaving. Fortunately, he will continue to serve our community as a
volunteer firefighter.

Re: City Hall Gardens
Dear Anne:
Without the efforts of the Garden Club, the entry garden to City Hall would be drab. Instead, the garden is a potpourri of annual
and perennial flowers in a rainbow of colors, shapes and sizes. City Hall employees and visitors alike regularly comment about
the beauty of the gardens.
On behalf of the City, thank you and the Garden Club for the fine job you have done nurturing the City Hall gardens for the past
five years. The City Council would like to thank and recognize the Garden Club and its members. Please consider this letter as
an invitation to each Garden Club member to attend the November 19th City Council meeting at 7:30pm at the Fire Station City
Council Chambers (16776 Fish Point Road). The Mayor will make a presentation to the Club.
Please contact Kelly Meyer at (952) 447-9803 to confirm the number of Garden Club members who will be present. Thank you
again, and I look forward to seeing you on November 19th.
