HomeMy WebLinkAbout9C - Goal #8 Plan CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT May 6, 2002 9C Frank Boyles, City Manager AGENDA ITEM: CONSIDER APPROVAL OF IMPLEMENTATION PLAN FOR 2002 CITY GOAL #8 RELATING TO MAKING INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENTS THAT ADDRESS THE LONG-TERM NEEDS OF OUR GROWING COMMUNITY. ISSUES: At the time of adoption, the City Council directed that within 60 days the staff return " with a detailed implementation plan for each goal. The attached --rmplementation-plan is detailed sbthe Council and public will understand the specific steps required to meet each of goals. The implementation plan also provides a time line for the completion of each project. Current Circumstances: Attached is a draft implementation plan for Goal #8 relating to making infrastructure investments that address the long-term needs of our growing community. The Council should review the implementation plan to determine if it is satisfactory. The attached implementation plan will be used by the staff to achieve this goal. As such, we will work to keep the Council and general public apprised of our status with respect to completion of each project. The implementation plans as proposed assume resources (personnel and financiaf) as they presently exist in the approved budget unless otherwise identified. ALTERNATIVES: (1) Adopt the implementation plan as recommended or with amendments. (2) Take no action and direct the staff to return to the Council with additional information.
