PRESENTATION: In March 2001, Bill and I initiated a new tradition of conducting a brief swearing in ceremony as part of the regular City Council meeting. The swearing in ceremony is a great opportunity for Councilmembers and the general public to get to know our newest police officers. Todd Deming is the newest officer to join the Prior Lake Police Department. Todd is from Plainview, Minnesota, and a graduate of Plainview High School. He also attend Rochester Community College and complete his law enforcement skills at Hibbing. Todd has been with the Hennepin County Sheriff's Department since 1998 were he worked in the jail and as a Court Bailiff. Law Enforcement is in Todd's family as his brother is also an officer with the Apple Valley Police Department. The ceremony would consist of the following: 1. Police Chief O'Rourke will introduce and provide some background information about the new police officer. 2. The Mayor will administer the attached oath to the officer and award their badge. 3. The Mayor will call a recess so the officer can arrange to have his badge pinned on his uniform by the person of his choice for pictures. 16200 Eagle Creek Ave. S.L Prior Lake.
