CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
JULY 15, 2001
4H
JANET RINGBERG, LICENSE CLERK
CONSIDER APPROVAL OF TEMPORARY 3.2 LIQUOR
LICENSE FOR PRIOR LAKE ATHLETICS FOR YOUTH
(P .L.A. Y.)
Current Circumstances
P.L.A.Y., in conjunction with the Prior Lake Chamber of Commerce,
is requesting a temporary 3.2 liquor license in order to sell 3.2 beer at
Lakefront Days. They have requested, and been granted a temporary
3.2 liquor license in past years. P.L.A.Y. will be selling 3.2 beer in the
entertainment tent located at Lakefront Park from 5:00 P.M.
until midnight on Friday, August 2,2002 and from 12 P.M. until
midnight on Saturday, August 3, 2002.
The Issues
Dram shop insurance will be carried through Prior Lake State Agency.
The Prior Lake Police Department has found no reason to deny the
application. P.L.A.Y. will pay to have a security officer present at the
tent on both days of the event. This is an expansion of sales hours
from previous years.
The City Council has the following alternatives:
1. Adopt a motion as part of the consent agenda approving the
temporary 3.2 liquor license for P.L.A.Y.
2. Deny the temporary 3.2 liquor license request.
Staff recommends Council approve the temporary 3.2 liquor license
for P.L.A.Y. for the period of August 2, 2002 through August 3, 2002.
