CONSIDER APPROVAL OF CIGARETTE LICENSE FOR
O'MALLEY'S ON MAIN

O'Malley's on Main is applying for a license in order to sell cigarettes.
They have been provided with a copy of the city ordinance concerning
tobacco sales.
The Issues
O'Malley's on Main has provided the City with a completed
application and paid the $250.00 license fee. They have provided the
City with a copy of educational materials as required by City
Ordinance, Section 308.309. O'Malley's on Main has previously been
licensed to sell cigarettes in Prior Lake but decided to let their license
lapse in 1997. The Prior Lake Police Department has reported no
violations for O'Malley's on Main concerning tobacco sales.
The City Council has the following alternatives:
1. Adopt a motion as part of the consent agenda approving the
cigarette license for O'Malley's on Main.
2. Deny the license request.
Staff recommends Council approve the cigarette license request as part
of the consent agenda.
