HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-148 2013 Preliminary Budget and Property Tax Levy 4646 Dakota Street SE Prior Lake, MN 55372 RESOLUTION 1 2 - 148 A RESOLUTION ADOPTING PROPOSED 20 1 3 CITY BUDGETS AND CERTIFYING PRELIMINARY 20 1 3 CITY OF PRIOR LAKE PROPERTY TAX LEVY TO SCOTT COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF TAXATION Motion By: Hedberg Second By: Soukup WHEREAS, Truth in Taxation provisions as specified by state statute requires the Prior Lake City Council to certify a proposed property tax levy to the Scott County Department of Taxation; and WHEREAS, Preliminary budget amounts for the City of Prior Lake for calendar year 201 3 are estimated as follows ; and General Fund $ 12, 385,680 Debt Service Funds 13,863,310 Revolving Equipment Fund 489,196 Facilities Management Fund 447,874 Water Fund 4,183,615 Sewer Fund 3, 111,508 Water Quality Fund 1,118,035 Transit Fund 1,127,771 Total $ 36, 726 , 989 WHEREAS, The proposed property tax levy for the City of Prior Lake for payable year 201 3 is as follows ; and General Purposes $ 6, 784,576 Revolving Equipment Fund 2 8 0,000 Facilities Management Fund 75,000 Debt Service 2,999,807 Total $ 10, 1 39,383 WHEREAS, The proposed property tax levy by tax base for the City of Prior Lake for payable year 201 3 is as follows; and Tax Capacity Based Levy $ 8, 972,261 Market Value Based Referenda Levy 1,167,122 Total $ 10, 1 39,383 The proposed City of Prior Lake property tax levy for the year payable 20 13 represents a WHEREAS, $ 7 25,259 or 7.70 % increase in total tax levy (excluding the Economic Development Authority levy) ; and The City Council will consider the 201 3 General Fund , Debt Service Funds , Revolving WHEREAS, Equipment Fund , Facilities Management Fund, EDA Special Revenue Fund and Enterprise Fund Budgets and the Final 201 3 Property Tax Levy during its regularly scheduled council meeting at 7 :00 p.m. on Monday November 26 , 20 1 2 at 4646 Dakota Street SE, Prior Lake with a continuation (if necessary) at 7 :00 p.m. on December 1 0 , 2 0 1 2 . NOW THEREFORE , BE IT HEREBY RESOLVE D BY THE CITY COUNCI L OF PRIOR LAKE, MINNESOTA as follows: 1. The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein. 2.
