Current Circumstances
Prior Lake City Code provides that refuse haulers in the community
are to apply for and receive their license annually in July. Attached is
a list of the four haulers who have requested renewal of their refuse
hauler permits.
The Issues
The Prior Lake Police Department has investigated all applicants and
found no reason to deny any of the applicant's renewal requests.
There have been no complaints reported for any of the applicants. All
applicants have provided the City with renewal fees, insurance and
bonding information.
The City Council has the following alternatives:
1. Adopt a motion as part of the consent agenda approving the
refuse hauler permits for 2000-2001.
2. Remove from the consent agenda for further discussion.
3. Deny the renewals.
Staffrecommends Council approve the 2000-2001 refuse hauler permit
renewals as part of the consent agenda.

2000-2001 Refuse Hauler Permit Renewals
Refuse hauler renewal fees are based upon the number of tmcks each company uses
within the city. Refuse haulers are charged $125.00 for the first tmck and $25.00 for each
additional tmck.
The Revenue from the 2000-2001 Refuse Hauler Permits is as follows:
Buckingham Disposal, Inc. $ 125.00
Dick's Sanitation, Inc. $ 200.00
Prior Lake Sanitation $ 250.00
Waste Management $ 575,00
TOTAL $1,150.00
