Prior Lake • Mike, Based on Johns email, we can go with that amount of dirt that needs to be imported to your site. With the $2400 used as a figure, we would require you to provide a escrow in the amount of 125% of the $2400 to guarantee that the back yard is brought up to the approved survey elevations. The escrow amount is: $2400.00 x 125 % = $3000.00. Before a temporary certificate of occupancy is issued for the house, the $3000.00 escrow must be submitted to the city or the work must completed. The city performed a building final inspection on February 22, 2011. There was a couple of building code items that were left to be completed. I believe you have that list. After the grading inspection passes, the escrow can be returned to you. The escrow must be submitted in the form of a cashiers check made out to the city or cash. The city would not cash the cashiers check escrow but it would be held until the work is completed and approved. At that time the check would be returned to you. When you set up a time for the final building inspection, city inspector Paul Baumgartner can take the check and we would send you a receipt, if its is to be cash submitted, please drop that off at city hall and we would issued a receipt. I calculate the site is still short around 85 cubic yards, but it could be slightly more. Keep in mind that we will have to Subcut the driveway again to remove the temporary driveway and that dirt could be used in the deeper fills. Either way my agreement with Rongitsch is for him to pay me $2400.00 to complete the work per the survey. Keep in mind I have a pile of excess soil behind the Wooddale house on Skinner just up the street I intend to haul here in the spring when conditions permit.
