ADDITIONAL COMMENTS FOR BUILDING PERMIT APPLICATIONS

easement.

SCOPE OF WORK: Observe the soils exposed in excavation bottom for the new residence. Judge
the soil bearing capabilities to support the foundation loads.
OBSERVATIONS /JUDGEMENTS:
On October 3, 2011 we observed the soils exposed in the excavation for the referenced residence.
In our opinion the exposed soils do not contain a significant organic content to negatively affect
their support capability. We judged the soils to be suitable to support 2,000 pounds per square
foot (psf) footing loads. Typical residential footing loads are on the order of 2,000 psf or lower.
Based on the hand auger borings and hand cone penetrometer probes conducted in the bottom of
the excavation, we judged the soils to be suitable to support the anticipated footing loads.
