Good Morning, All
I just had a conversation with Joe Wiita about getting a relative of his to move my shed. He's on
it! As soon as I speak to his relative, I will get the info on the permit and get that in to you. Another
relative will sheetrock the wall that will be closest to my house.
I also told Joe about not having a permit when I built the fence, because I knew I would be building
over the sewer easement. He told me I should talk to Jake about this — he said he had granted
permits over easements in his day...fences, retaining walls, etc., with the understanding of the
homeowner that if any work ever needed to be done, the homeowner would be responsible for
removing the fence at that time.
I would greatly appreciate you having a discussion amongst yourselves about that possibility in my
situation. If and when any work would need to be done on the easement in front of my property, I
understand I would have to remove a portion of the fence, and would assume responsibility for any
and all costs.
If there is a penalty for having built the fence without a permit, I would be willing to pay that fee in
order to not have to go through the hassle of pulling up a portion of the fence at this time. I also
would like to apologize for not having pulled that permit...believe it or not, it has weighed on my mind
because I am not a dishonest person, and I am actually feeling pretty good about having this out in
the open and under discussion.
