BOX 3S9 PRIOR LAKE, MINNESOTA 55372 CITY OF PRIOR LAKE 4W or I'L1NNiNG COMMISSION MINUTES - December 15, 1983 `t`he December 15, 1983 meeting of the Prior Lake Planning Commission was called to order by Chairman Arnold at 7:35 P.M. Present were Commis- sioners Loftus, Larson, Roseth, Felix and City Planner Crater. The minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed. Motion by Felix to approve the minutes as presented, seconded by Roseth. Upon a vote taken the mot9.on was duly passed. Item I, Dan Metzger variance request for Lot 20 Eastwood. Mr. Metzger was present to answer questions. Mr. Metzger stated that he is purchasing Lot 20 Eastwood for a single dwelling home and needs the variances due to the long narrow lot. City Planner Graser commented per memorandum dated December 15, 1983. Ed Hall, 5810 150th St., abutting property owner stated that the house if located 95' from the lake would obstruct their view and is not consistent with area homes in location from the lake setback. Judy Hall, 5810 150th St., also stated that the house would diffinitely block their view from the house. George Algren stated that the consistency of the neighborhood is 1 house for 2 lots and this proposal is not harmonious plus obstructing the view from his in -laws house on Lot 22 & 23 which is Mr. & Mrs. Poquette. Karen Algren, daughter of the Poquette's on Lot 22 & 23,stated that the upstairs of their house would look into the proposed house plus obstructing the view. John Mahoney, contractor for the proposed house stated that the lake setback is in compliance, the concern here is the side yard variances. George Algren requested that the Planning Commission look at the site. Stan Hannes property owner commented that the proposed house site was bulldozed many years ago for future home site and all area residents knew of this. (612) 447.4230 4629 DAKOTA STREET S.E. P.O. BOX 359 PRIOR LAKE, MINNESOTA 55372 The Planning Commissioners commented on this request and had concerns cvor the area property owners dissent regarding the proposed site of On' house and felt a topo map would help show the lot slope in position- ing the proposed house. Also there is only one stub for the two lots- Motion by I.arson to table the variance application for Lot 20 Eastwood to .Ianuary 5, 1983 at 7:35 P.M. when the applicant will submit re; vi se drawings, seconded by Felix. Upon a vote taken the motion duly passed. At this time a 5 minute recess was called. The meeting resumed at 8:55 P.M. Item TI Larry & Kathleen Rundell variance request for 15096 Fish Point Road S.E. Mr. Rundell was present to answer questions. Mr. Rundell stated that he only has 1,000 sq. ft. of existing living space now and needs more space with 2 small children. Therefore with the odd shape of the lot he needs the variances. City Planner Graser commented per memorandum dated December 15, 1983. The Planning Commissioners commented on the alignment of the .garage to the house. Motion by Loftus to approve the 2.5 foot side yard variance and 13 foot front yard variance for 15096 Fish Point Road SE.since it is consistent with previous approved variances and consistent with the character of the neighborhood and not detrimental to the property in the neighborhood, seconded by Larson. Motion by Larson to adjourn the Planning Commission meeting, seconded by Felix. Upon a vote taken the motion was duly passed. The meeting adjourned at 9:20 P.M.
