Prior Lake Marine — Conditional U: THE CENTER OF LAKE COUNTRY PRIOR LAKE PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING - February 13, 1975 The Prior Lake Pl anning Commission meeting was called to order at 7:40 P.M. by Chairman Bissonett. Members present were: Bissonett, Houts, Tercero, Thorkelson and Councilman Watkins. Also present were: Councilman Williams, Administrator McGuire, and Admin- istrative Assistant Sullivan. Members absent were: Stack & Jobst. The following correction was noted in the minutes for January 30, 1975. Page 1, paragraph 8, 1st sentence should read: Next meeting will be held February 13, 1975 @ 7:30 P.M. Motion was made by Houts to approve the minutes as corrected, seconded by Tercero and upon a vote taken, it was duly passed. Councilman Watkins brought up a petition by Lawrence Schweich to renew a conditional use permit, to excavate gravel on the Bang property. There were no complaints received about the excavation, while the unsafe situations were corrected before the previous conditional use permit was issued and the area has been improved as a result of the excavation. Motion was made by Bouts to approve the renewal of the Conditional Use Permit for Lawrence Sckrreich for a period of two years, seconded by Thorkelson and upon a vote taken, it was duly passed. Councilman Watkins brought up the DuBar Marine Conditional Use Permit. Discussion centered on numbers 2, 4, and 7 of the proposed conditional use permit. Number two was amended to reads "The use of the subject property shall be limited to the sales and services of marine and snowmobile products, minor auto body and cleanup work limi ted to seven vehicles on the premises at any one time. The body shop operation is to be period- ically inspected by the Fire Marshal. Motion was made by Watkins to place this condition in the permit, seconded by Tercero and upon a vote taken, it was duly passed. Number four was amended to read; "There shall be no public sale of motor fuels and any storage of fuel shall be underground. Storage tanks;to be completed by June 1, 1975, and comply with State ordinances concerning underground storage of fuel. Motion was made by Houts to have DuBar Marine bury its marine fuel tanks underground, seconded by Thorkelson and upon a vote taken, it was duly passed." Number seven was amended to read: "The operations shall involve 25 boat slips for 25 permanently docked boats in the docking facility. A land boat park may be established to accommodate up to 35 vessels on either trailers or dollies to be launched from this facility on a contract basis. Motion was made by Houts to have 25 boat slips in the water with 35 boats in dry storage. Motion was made by Houts to accept the Conditional Use Permit as it is rewritten, to be typed and sent to DuBar, seconded by Thorkelson and upon a vote taken, it was duly passed. (1) THE CENTER OF LAKE COUNTRY Mr. Romy Kopp and Mr. James Dodson came before the Planning Commission requesting a conditional use permit to open a mobile home sales lot across from the Deep Rock Station on State Highway 13. Mr. Dodson explained the mobile homes would be pulled in, blocked and steps installed to the mobile homes. A sign and gravel parking lot would be placed on the premises with a trailer office made to look permanent. Discussion centered on access and egress to the highway, since the Minnesota State Highway Department plans to renovate Highway 13 into a controlled access highway through sections of Prior Lake. A recommendation was made to Mr. Kopp and Mr. Dodson to contact the State Highway Department and find out whether they will be allowed access and egress to Highway 13. Motion was made by Watkins to table Prior Lake Marines conditional use permit for further study, seconded by Thorkelson and upon a vote taken, it was duly passed. The forthcoming public hearing on February 20, 1975 Q 7:30 P.M. was discussed in the round. The Planning Commissioners were reminded that the Planning Commission meets every first and thi.rd:Thursday of the month. Next meeting scheduled for March 6, 1975 @ 7:30 P.M. Motion was made by Thorkelson to adjourn the meeting at 9:45 P.M, seconded by Tercero and upon a vote taken, it was duly passed. Submitted by, William Sullivan, Administratdve Assistant
