INTRODUCTION:
The purpose of this agenda item is to consider approval of 90%
payment to Scott County Highway Department for the amount due
of $447,294.66 for the city's share of improvements to CSAH 44,
City Project 95-06. See the attached copy of the invoice from
Scott County.
BACKGROUND:
The Cooperative Agreement between Scott County and the City of
Prior Lake for CSAH 44 from T .H. 13 to the East City Limits
requires the city to deposit with Scott County Treasurer 90% of the
estimated city's share of the construction and engineering costs as
partial payment. The remaining amount of the city's share will be
paid to the county upon completion of the project including
landscaping and submittal to the city of the county's final
statement of the project costs.
DISCUSSION:
The payment of this invoice is included in the list of invoices to be
paid. Since the amount is quite large, staff is including this agenda
write up as background information.
On June 19, 1995, the City Council approved the plans and
specifications for CSAH 44 and approved the Cooperative
Agreement with Scott County. As mentioned in the agenda write
up for June 19,1995, the city and county estimated that the total
city cost would be $500,000. Based on the bid amounts received
by the contractor, Richard Knutson Inc., it appears that the city's
share will be slightly under the $500,000 estimate.

ALTERNATIVES:
The alternatives are as follows:
1. Approve 90% partial payment of $447,294.66 for the city's
share of improvements to CSAH 44.
2. Table this item for a specific reason.
3. Deny this agenda item for a specific reason.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve Alternative No.1.
FINANCIAL IMP ACT: The CSAH 44 project funding was included in the $950,000
General Obligation Bonds of 1995. The bond issue included
Ridgemont Avenue and Creekside Circle along with the $500,000
for the CSAH 44 project.
ACTION REQUIRED: Motion and second as part of the Consent Agenda to approve
partial payment of $447,294 for the City's share of improvements
