CONSIDER APPOINTMENT OF JODY STROH AS CHAIR
OF LAKE ADVISORY COMMITTEE

The Chair of the Lake Advisory Committee, Dave Vinlove,
resigned and a new Chair needs to be appointed.
The City Council, at their workshop on January 21, 1994
discussed the bylaws of all committees. One of the subjects
discussed was that the City Council would appoint the Chair
of each advisory committee. Councilmember Greenfield and
City Manager, Frank Boyles, are in the process of reviewing
the bylaws of all committees.
The Lake Advisory Committee (LAC) at their February 23,
1994 meeting approved a motion recommending that the
City Council appoint Jody Stroh as the Chair of the Lake
Advisory Committee. While the Lake Advisory Committee
recommends Jody Stroh as the Chair they also believe that
the committee should also be able to appoint the Chair
without Council approval.
Recognizing that the bylaws are being reviewed, the Council
should appoint a Chair for the Lake Advisory Committee.
The direction at the workshop was that the Chair position
would be reviewed annually. This action will provide the
committee with a Chair to continue its work for 1994 and
give the City Council and committees an opportunity to
review and adopt new bylaws.
The alternatives are as follows:
1. Remove this item from the Consent Agenda for
discussion.
2. Adopt a motion as part of the Consent Agenda that
Jody Stroh be appointed as Chair for the remainder of
1994.
The recommendation is for the City Council to adopt
Alternative No.2.
