HomeMy WebLinkAbout94-19 RESOLUTION 94-19 RESOLUTION OF THE PRIOR LAKE CITY COUNCIL TO AMEND THE LAND USE MAP OF THE YEAR 2000 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN. MOTION BY: KEDROWSKI SECONDED BY: GREENFIELD WHEREAS: The Planning Commission held a public hearing on Tuesday, April 12, 1994 to amend the Comprehensive Plan, Land Use Map to change the designation of "The east 300 feet of Lot 1, Block 3, Brooksville Center 1st Addition, from Commercial to High Density Residential; and WHEREAS: notice of the public hearing on said motion has been duly published and posted in accordance with the applicable Minnesota Statutes; and WHEREAS: Prior Lake/Savage School District is committed to the purchase and long term use of this site for Kindergarten classes, Community Education classes, Special Education and Early Childhood classes; and WHEREAS: it was found that the amendment would provide a transitional use between the commercial and residential land uses to the south; and WHEREAS: it was found that the amendment would not significantly affect any redevelopment potential for the Commercial District; and WHEREAS: it was found that existing utilities and roadways are of capacity to accommodate a high density residential land use designation; and WHEREAS: it is not anticipated that any major Metropolitan Systems will be impacted by the proposed minor amendment; and WHEREAS: the City Council held a hearing on April 18, 1994 affirming the findings of the Planning Commission. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PRIOR LAKE, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does approve the minor Comprehensive Plan Amendment to redesignate the aforementioned property from Commercial to High Density Residential Land Use, subject to approval of the Metropolitan Council.
