CONSIDER APPROVAL OF CHAN E ORDER #2 FOR THE PRIOR
LAKE FIRE STATION #1 PROJECT
NOVEMBER 21, 1994
Fire Station #1 is being constructed. Council has previously considered
andapproved change order #1 to the original contract. Attached is change
order #2 in the amount of $4481 which is being considered for approval at
the November 21 Council meeting.
The attached change order includes seven items, four of which have
been changed at no cost. The most expensive item provides for
plumbing revisions required to conform with Minnesota Department of
Health requirements. Two other significant changes include a revision in
the sewer piping to comply with the city's heavier than standard piping
thickness requirements. Also included is a change which adds lighting
and ground fault protection to cover the radio system.
I believe that these change orders are necessary and are for the most
part relatively minor. Even with the change order, construction is within
the original project budget.
Council has the. following alternatives:
1. Approve the change order as requested.
2. Request additional information with respect to the change
order.
RECOMMENDATION: Alternate #1 is recommended.
ACTION REQUIRED: Motion and second as part of the consent agenda to approve change
order #2 to the Fire Station #1 project.
