STAFF AGENDA REPORT DA TE: -- 4F 'j/\J\ FRANK BOYLES, CITY MANAGER, ,,\ \ CONSIDER APPROVAL OF A POIN ENTS TO VARIOUS ADVISORY COMMITTEES JANUARY 16,1996 AGENDA #: PREPARED BY: SUBJECT: BACKGROUND: During the months of November and December, ads were placed in the Prior Lake American soliciting applications for persons interested in serving on the Parks Advisory, Business Development and Lake Advisory committees. This memorandum recommends appointments to each of the above referenced committees. Existing vacancies in the Park Advisory, Business Development and Lake Advisory committees is discussed below: Park Advisory Commission - There are two present openings in this seven member committee. Five applications (attached) were received from various individuals. All five individuals were interviewed. The subcommittee recommends that the City Council appoint Thomas Schultz to a term expiring September, 1996 and Thea Fluhrer to a term expiring September, 1997. At that time the Council can determine whether it wishes to reappoint each of these individuals to full terms. Business Development Committee - One opening exists on the Business Development Committee as a result of the election of Wes Mader to the City Council and consequent resignation from the committee. One individual expressed an interest in appointment to the Business Development Committee. The subcommittee would recommend that the City solicit additional applications for this position. Lake Advisory Committee - The Lake Advisory Committee has one opening because of the resignation of Bill Packer. The subcommittee interviewed Tom Foster and Sally Schmidt.
