REQUEST FOR WAIVER OF OUTDOOR CONCERT PERMIT FEES
FOR ST. MICHAEL'S APRILFEST

St. Michael's Church is requesting an Outdoor Concert permit in order to
hold a family dance on the school grounds during their AprilFest
celebration on April 27, 1996.
AprilFest is an annual event for families of the entire community an a
main fundraiser for St. Michael's Church. They have already applied for a
temporary liquor and gambling license (to be considered), for this event.
St. Michael's is requesting that the $200.00 Outdoor Concert Fee be
waived along with the $250.00 clean-up deposit as they are a non -profit
organization. The fees have been waived previously by the City Council.
The dance will be held in an enclosed area (tent) and any debris from the
dance will also be contained in the enclosed area. The format is similar
to previous dances which have taken place with minimum incident.
1. Approve the waiver of Outdoor Concert fee in the amount of $200.00.
2. Deny fee waiver request.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends Council approve the fee waiver for St. Michael's
AprilFest upon approval by City Manager Frank Boyles of the Outdoor
Concert Permit

This letter comes to you with our application for our out-door concert pennit. We are asking for
your approval to have Todd Hertaus, a DJ, provide music for our parish on April 27, 1996 from
7:00 PM untilll :00 PM. We have used him in the past, and have notified all surrounding
neighbors about this concert, providing them with a special invitation to come and join us for a
few hours of enjoyment. We have not heard anything negative from them, and have always held
to our 11: 00 PM finish.
We would like to ask your consideration in waiving the $ 250.00 permit fee like you have done
always in the past years. We do not charge to get into this concert, and it is not used for a
fundraising activity as much as it it used for the socializing of all of our parishioners who have
worked all day long in order to make the Aprilfest a fundraiser that the Church so desperately
needs.
