CONSIDER APPROVAL OF ORDIN - E 96- 25,
AMENDING ORDINANCE 96-17 AMENDING TITLE 8
OF THE CITY CODE CONTROLLING JUNK AND JUNK
VEHICLES ON PUBLIC OR PRIVATE PROPERTY.
OCTOBER 7, 1996
At the City Council's July 1, 1996 meeting, the City
Council considered and approved Ordinance 96-17 relating
to Junk and Junk Vehicles. As a result of a typographical
error, Section 10 of Chapter 6 was omitted from the
ordinance amendment. Section 10 sets forth the penalties
associated with the Junk and Junk Vehicle Ordinance,
and should have been included.
To provide for a complete ordinance, the Council should
now approve this section so that it can be incorporated in
the original ordinance and published. The complete
ordinance will become effective on January 1, 1997.
This section of the ordinance provides for the penalties
associated with violation of the newly adopted ordinance.
The Council has the following alternatives:
1. Approve Ordinance 96-25 as part of the Consent
Agenda.
2. Remove from the Consent Agenda for further
discussion.
RECOMMENDATION: Alternative 1.
ACTION REQUIRED: Motion and second as part of the Consent Agenda to adopt
Ordinance 96-25 establishing penalties for the Junk and
Junk Vehicle Ordinance 96-17 already adopted by the City
Council on July 1, 1996.
