FRANK BOYLES, CITY MANAGER'
CITY COUNCIL DIRECTIVES REPORT
DECEMBER 2, 1996
Attached is a list of City Council Directives for calendar year 1996.
The purpose of this agenda item is to have Councilmembers review the
status of each and discuss if appropriate.
As the Council is aware, I maintain a list of Directives from each
Council meeting, in an effort to assure that orderly and timely fol1ow-
up occurs with respect to each. Each Directive is provided to the Staff
in the form of a motion and second with majority vote.
The attached list of Directives shows the current status of each. I am
pleased to note that of the 89 Directives provided to date in 1996, a
total of 69 or 78% have been completed. Of the remainder, 9 or 10%
are ongoing, leaving 11 or 12% incomplete as of this date.
Credit for the completion of these significant follow-up items goes to
members of my Staff, who have been diligent in expediting these work
efforts to the best of their ability.
The Council should determine whether it concurs with the status of the
Directives and whether further questions or directions are required.
The Council has the following alternatives:
1. Adopt Directives Report as presented.
2. Discuss, modify, and adopt Directives Report.
RECOMMENDATION: Either Alternatives 1 or 2.
ACTION REQUIRED: Motion and second to adopt Directives Report either as IS or as
amended by the City Council.
